About the Author
Ruth C. Sun, a volunteer Christian worker, accidentally found that children in low income communities have problems with math. Following the Good Samaritan footsteps, she started math clubs for children from 3rd to 8th grades. Deeply puzzled by the apathy among adults towards math, she was impelled to search for the cause(s) of math failure*. At the same time, the math clubs provided a challenge and an opportunity for her to analyze the steps that are required to learn each and every arithmetic concept and skill. The Family Math Companion is the byproduct of that labor of love.
